Cellsize Regression Frame

These frames are simply made for those with access to a table saw, or standard top bars can be shortened using a mitre saw or hand saw to make the extra bars.

A special type of frame that can be used in bee hives during attempts to reduce the size of cells and size of bees in a particular colony.

The special frames are made with extra horizontal, grooved bars similar to top bars at one third height and two thirds height.

3 starter strips of foundation are fitted (one to each horizontal bar), as per the diagram below.

Details of how they may be used occur on the Cellsize Regression page. The starter strips can be quite small, a depth of foundation showing below the wooden bar need only be about the same as one cell in height.
