Burrough and District Darts League

I started playing in the "Burrough League" rather late in my dart playing career (1974). In those days it was played man for man, three legs 301 start and finish on a double, with eight players in a team.

At that time I played competitive darts on most nights of the week and it was nice to have a change and to visit The Cheney Arms at Gaddesby. As with the pétanque, dwindling numbers caused the team to move to The Saddle Inn at Twyford. I also played a few seasons at the Golden Fleece at South Croxton (pronounced crow-sun or sometimes crowstun).

The 2000 season saw a return to league darts at the "Cheney", but played within the Syston League as the old Burrough league no longer exists.
