Toggle Type Bee Hive Fasteners Made in Turkey

There are two similar types of latch illustrated on this page, they are manufactured by the Bilgen Company, who are located in Istanbul in Turkey.

They are robustly made and incorporate an adjustment feature that can cope with additional items like a queen excluder being placed between boxes.

Part Number: 101 has a stirrup made from 4 mm rod and is shown in the first illustration loosely assembled, with the latch in the open position.

For size comparison the hook component is 38 mm wide, 40 mm long, with the hook standing proud of the woodwork by 10 mm, the material thickness is 2 mm and the finish is cadmium plate with a clear passivation. Fixing holes are 5.5 mm which are countersunk to a front surface diameter of 8 mm. The adjustment range is 22 mm. The 'over centre' toggle action is firm and positive. The drawing below shows a side view that aligns with and is to the same scale as the photo above which is nominally 7.5 pixels per mm.

The second version

Part Number: 102 has a stirrup made from one millimetre thick folded sheet metal and is shown in the illustration loosely assembled, with the latch in the open position.

For size comparison the hook component is 38 mm wide, 40 mm long, with the hook standing proud of the woodwork by 10 mm, the material thickness is 2 mm and the finish is cadmium plate with a chromatic passivation. Fixing holes are 5.5 mm which are countersunk to a front surface diameter of 8 mm. This component is identical in each type as is the toggle and the other fixed portion. The adjustment range is 12 mm. The 'over centre' toggle action is firm and positive. The drawing below shows a side view that aligns with and is to the same scale as the photo above which is nominally 7.5 pixels per mm.
