This device has similarities with the two items depicted on the companion page The stirrup in this case being an aluminium alloy die casting.

This latch is of shorter overall length than the Turkish ones, manufacture is to standards that are more crude, with holes and edges showing burrs, but the burrs have been reduced by 'rumbling', they fulfil their duty adequately.

The range of adjustment is 14 mm and to give a comparison of size the hook component is 42 mm wide, 42 mm long, with the hook standing proud of the woodwork by 12 mm, the material thickness is 2 mm and the finish is cadmium or zinc plate with passivation that is slightly chromatic. Fixing holes are 5 mm which are not countersunk.
