The Santa Bee Research Group is a bunch of beekeepers that are combining their knowledge and resources in order to conduct beekeeping experiments and related research into subjects that mainstream research will not fund or pursue. The Santa Group is not an acronym, but is named because the discussion that formed it started from an Irish Beekeeping list Email No. 12579 written by Chris Slade that was titled... "Late wish list for Santa Claus". This caused considerable discussion which resulted in the formation of a core group known jocularly as 'Santa's Elves'. Santa's Elves, are a few beekeepers with useful skills that put in some effort to steer the group through it's objectives. The random pictures that occur at left have been synthesised to show some of them in a light hearted Santa's Wish List context and allow a little freedom for me to exercise 'artistic licence'. It is hoped that the pictures will grow in number and improve in quality as time goes by... It has also been noted that many of the Santa Group beekeepers have white beards already, so little re-touching is required. |
