Front Elevation of the CDB Bee Hive |
|
In producing the drawing on this page and the other similar pages, I have tried to keep the flavour and style of the original whilst at the same time modernising the presentation. I make no apologies for the use of Imperial dimensions... The equipment was designed using Imperial timber dimensions and the limits and fits were sorted out accordingly. Metrication is not just a process of translating or converting values and to metricate this design would require knowledge of the original designer's calculations (which are not to hand). I have spent much time working on this project... The drawing at left, alone took about 20 hours preparation, during that time I have come to respect the design a great deal and am a little confused as to why it has fallen out of favour. Especially when there are a number of WBC hives still in use... If the CDB and WBC are compared, all features favour the CDB bee hive and by a very large margin. |
